New Music
I’d say that this was a strong few weeks we just had. Several albums came out that I will be listening to rather heavily in the coming months.

Interpol - Our Love to Admire
Solid release from Interpol. I love this junk. I could listen to this album while driving for hours on repeat. “Pioneer to the Falls” is classic Interpol. Simple keys, simple guitar intro, strong and haunting lyrics. Probably my favorite track on the album. There is one thing that I love and hate about Interpol. Their albums sound so much strong when listened to as a whole. For bands like The Mars Volta, this works well. But for 4 minute songs of indie drama guitar rock like Interpol creates, I doesn’t make for single song shuffle happiness in my world.
Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
Aesop kills it with every album. None Shall Pass is no exception. Great production and strong lyrics of insightful social commentary make Aesop one of my favorites out there. You don’t have to rap about weed and hoes to be good. The opening track “Keep of the Lawn” is a great transition from Fast Cars, Danger, Fire, and Knives. The album has some great guest appearances from El-P, Cage, and John Darnielle. Strong album all around, from track 1 through 14, which is a great releif following Fast Cars’ 7 tracks.
Atreyu - Lead Sails Paper Anchor
Good old fashioned hardcore like your grandpa used to listen to while he was hoboing during the depression. That could just be my grandpa though, he was a bad ass.
Scary Kids, Scaring Kids - Scary Kids, Scaring Kids
If Atreyu was for your grandpa, Scary Kids, Scaring Kids is for your grandma. Great vocal work along side some very Saosin-esque guitar work. I’m a huge fan of this album. This is the album that Dead Poetic should have made instead of Vices.
Common - Finding Forever
Common does good on his latest. The world is going to love this album. At least for another few weeks before they move on to Kanye West and 50 Cent.
Pinback - Autumn of the Seraphs
I never got into Pinback in the past. This album is changing that. This album rocked my face off.

dude, thanks for the reviews!!! I’ve heard of Aesop Rock but never really listened to them until now. I just purchased the album on iTunes and can’t wait for a full listen. Too bad the Scary Kids album isn’t on iTunes or I would buy it too. I guess I will have to make a trip to Target tonight. Thanks again for the new music suggestions! You rock!
