Archer: a New Font from H&FJ.

Archer
I am a huge fan of slab-serif typefaces being used for large amounts of body copy. I worked with PMN Caecilia while at Relevant Magazine — it was an amazing type choice I wish I could take credit for. I’ve also used Amasis, Serifa, and The Seif with great results. Hoefler & Frere-Jones have described my feelings of slab-serifs in general with their description of Archer itself:

A slab could be personable, straightforward, and credible, though it would take special effort to also make it pretty, hard-working, and frank. Archer would have to answer some formidable typographic demands…

Archer is now for sale from H&FJ after it’s, thus far, exclusive use for Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Hoefler & Frere-Jones have it for sale in a variety of packages, I suggest saving up and buying the complete family. It’s an amazing face, I’ve seen it in action. I know it will work for you.

I may just have to save up and buy this. H&FJ have type sexiness on lock.

My Mac just soiled itself.

Go ahead and comment. I won't make fun of you too much.
