I've tried to like The Violet Burning, but I just can't get past how mid-90's radio rock they are. They have a few good songs that I can put into a random mix, but it's not something I can listen to consistent or as a whole album.

Starflyer on the other hand... I listen to so freaking much.

Since you like Starflyer, who are tremendous live, have you given a listen to The Violet Burning? Not the same genre, but the same vein, you know?

Seriously, Santogold's album is tremendous.

And you really do need to give Narrow Stairs a real fighting chance, and that's coming from a guy who didn't like the album and doesn't believe in giving albums precious listening time if they don't amaze me quickly.

I will have to give Narrow Stairs more time, because the few times I've attempted to listen to it have just bored me; but I've loved them since "We have the facts and we're voting yes", so I do owe it to myself (and them) to give it a fair shake. Santogold is on my list of albums that I know I need to listen to from 2008. Good stuff; as usual

I thought about putting Fleet Foxes on here but the album just didn't wow me like I expected after hearing all the hype. It's a good album but not one I'll be listening to down the road after the novelty wears off.

These are some pretty good picks, I would have to agree with most of them... though I would definitely have Fleet Foxes on my list, that has been one of my favorites lately. I did come around to liking the new Death Cab, but I'm still not liking the new Copeland. Anyways there are some good listens here.
